Now I wish to unify the entire world. For the problems of sadness and hate are not just among the pillagers, but they exist with everyone. To fix this problem, I believe would require another miracle from the Gods

Illager King to younger Illagers, Annoying Villagers 55

The Illager King, also known as the Pillager King, is a major deuteragonist in Annoying Villagers series and the leader of the Illager Kingdom.

Originally a normal Pillager in a weak tribe, his life completely changed after he became the winner of the First Tournament of the Gods, though with a bitter lost of his tribemates, especially his supportive brother. Soon with his newfound bless of the Creators, he was able to unify the previously fractured pillagers and later the rest of the Illagers as well, creating the Illager Kingdom.

He is voiced by MrFudgeMonkeyz, alike to all male characters in the series.

Appearance

The Illager King can easily be distinguished as among one of an Illager’s kindred, with a gray skin tone, large gray nose, dark bluish trousers and gray shoes, but he bears a full set of skeletal gear/armor, emitting a strange tone of faint, ghostly, hues as the color of his eyes. He is consistently seen aloft his skeleton horse, of which wears the same, ghastly horse armor as the color of its eyes.

For quite some time before the present timeline of Annoying Villagers, the Illager King wore the generic pillager outfit, still with his ghostly light blue eyes.

Prior the First Tournament of the Gods, the king had the same appearance, only his eyes were a blue color resembling the Vindicators with a bandage covering part of his head.

The Illager King speaks in a dull, threatening monotone, as the same dull intelligence and hostility in his movements and eyes. He is solemn in combat, fueled by a dark relentless hatred to battle against his will and opponent. He has strong determination to destroy all demons in the world, including his greatest adversary, the Blue Demon, all so he can unite the entire world and remove all problems in the world in his hands.

The Invitation

I still remember when I was a normal pillager.

Illager King to other Illagers Annoying Villagers 55

The to-be Illager King was once a normal pillager residing in a small, rundown, taiga village, along with his tribemates. Him and a few tribemates were stationed near a campfire until a Special Event Llama had appeared through a pixelated portal among multiple locations at once, enthusiastically chanting "Greetings!" . The Illager King, his brother, and close tribemates were startled by the Llama's sudden presence. The Llama announced to all Pillagers that they were invited to participate in a tournament, held by the Gods. He and his tribemates contemplated joining, however the Illager King argued that obtaining the "Gift of the Gods" was their only chance for survival, at the threat of the larger surrounding Pillager tribes, with his brother supporting. A Pillager with crossbow was unsure of this, until their leader volunteered himself to join the tournament.

The Tournament of the Gods

We can’t let you hog all the glory! If you wish to fight for our tribe, we shall follow and assist you to the bitter end! Better to go out fighting!

Illager King's vow with his tribemates Annoying Villagers 55

Before the tournament, the soon-to-be Illager King was seen standing among a crowd of Illagers as the Event Llama described the event to them. The other Pillagers were frightened by the thought of one winner, however, the blue Pillager leader proceeded forward. The king and his tribemates supported his decision and followed him, vowing to fight until the end. The Llama claimed that their bravery will be rewarded, as they were transported to the Adventure Realm to begin the tournament. In the intense battlefield, a huge machine was seen flinging participants around. In its rampage, it injured Illager King and his brother, who died shortly after. The King picked up his fallen brother's axe, which was a sentient item with the soul of his brother within. He desperately fell to his knees, watching the robot flatten hopeless players. The axe, however, lunged him backward whilst talking to him, urging him to live while glowing a bright red. Soon, the machine killed the last player and he crowned the winner of the tournament.

Becoming the King

Your dream has come true. Your sacrifice was not wasted. I made sure of it.

When he returned to the Overworld, his irises shined a saturated light blue and the other pillagers began worshiping him as the King of the Illagers. He would often question whether or not it was worth it. His axe also slowly stopped communicating with him, as the Illager King described it as a bitter taste rather than a sweet taste of victory. Over time he would gain more of a bond with his axe, learning to properly wield and control it. Later, he recounted his story to a group of younger Illagers as they inquire about his past. The Illager King had no doubt that the portal would open again, and vowed that when the Tournament of the Gods re-opens, he would be the clear victor.

I thought we had a peace treaty? How unfortunate...

–The Illager King's first line Annoying Villagers 40

Main article: Annoying Villagers 43

Blue Demon had finished his conversation with Steve after he defeated Mr.Colder and Enchanter when suddenly three Illagers kneeled. They closed their eyes and bowed their heads, repeating the words: "King!". The sounds of hooves cantering before them neared until the Illager King appeared aloft his Skeletal horse, flanked with Illager Riders and flying Vexes on both sides. With a vacant and and deadpan expression, he questioned the Drowned in an unnerving 'ancient' tongue the fact that he thought they had a "peace treaty." Without waiting for an answer, he then said "how unfortunate" (in ancient tongue), pulling out his axe from his scabbard strapped against his back. Jagged points suddenly erupted from the tip of the ax, and he uttered "Release." The sky suddenly turned a ghastly opalescent shade of night, and the Illager King lifted his ax high as his skeletal horse reared up, letting up a high-pitched whinny. As the Skeleton horse bared down, a ghostly, green and translucent outline of the skeleton horse burst forth, charging, hurtling towards Blue Demon, Steve and Mr. Colder. The Drowned stood his ground as the ghostly apparitions rushed past him, bowling over Mr.Colder and engulfing a screaming Steve.

Farewell. You shall not be missed.

Blue Demon before blowing Illager King up Annoying Villagers 43

Blue Demon, being left alone and heavily outnumbered, somehow managed to take out all of the Illager King's troops, and the King decided to fight the drowned by himself. In the ensuing dual, Illager King gained an upper hand with his supremacy in speed but Blue Demon was just luring the King in. Blue Demon had set up the trap and blocked him with his tridents, in an attempt to electrify him. The King turned his weapon back into a fork to block the attack. When Blue Demon electrified him, a large electrical explosion occured, injuring the king and damaging his armor. His forked weapon turned into a yellowish green and began to possibly heal the king and repair his armor.

The Drowned asked the King where he got his weapon. The King answered that he got it from a Creator and explained that they're hiding because they're afraid their powers would be taken away. He then continued his speech that the drowned was the only one willing to challenge him and decided to broke the alliance since he had seen through what the King's planning, and that he had to be eliminated. The drowned then asked which Creator who gave the weapon and what happened to him. The King replied that he would answer it if the drowned could defeat him, and his powers can be the drowned's. The Illager King then told Blue Demon that he couldn't run forever and that he had to fight the King seriously one day. Blue Demon retreated.

Illager King, "greeting" Fuzzy Cloud Annoying Villagers 53

As Fuzzy Cloud faced Steve, who was hopeless at the time, Woopie called for assistance and summoned two ender pearls. The Illager King enderpearled in aloft his skeletal horse, drawing his signature axe. He uttered "extend", and the axe pierced towards Fuzzy Cloud, slicing his shades in half, causing it to drop down on the ground. As the axe retracted, he turned his head to Steve, telling him to understand that Fuzzy was merely a demon who wished to destroy the world. He then mocked Steve for he was a foolish ally with him, that he would fall to his demise just like many of his former allies. He finally proclaimed that those demons must be erased for the sake of the world. At one point, he continued Swordsman Herobrine’s words, that he was merely restoring order.

Against the Herobrine Vessels

Never fear those demons. If you fear them, you will relinquish your power to them.

After Fuzzy Cloud retreated, the Illager King began torturing Steve by attacking him then healing him so he could attack him again. Eventually, the King restrained himself and forced Steve to accept his motives. He then assigned Steve to track Blue Demon, so he could fight against him when he was resting. But right after, a few Herobrine Vessels appear through the destroyed sand wall. The king motivated Steve to engage, and the king smashed one of the vessels with his extended axe, killing him. He proceeded to swing his extended axe aside, which hit another vessel, launching him high to the air. Later, the king was shocked and mad after witnessing Steve was captured by Entity303.

Illager King's assault in the Resistance Desert Camp

The Illager King entered the Resistance Desert Camp riding his horse and fighting some vessels. He jumped off his Horse while blocking arrows from the Herobrine Vessels, then began swinging his axe twice against them. The king then appeared aloft his horse, preparing for another attack, only for Blue Demon to use his Trident Festival move, causing a huge explosion on the place.

Nevertheless. That monster still breathes. I shall finish this.

Illager King, Annoying Villagers 55

Illager King was revealed barely surviving the blast with two Vexes airlifting him in the air. Once the vexes landed him, he told the two enchanted vexes to stay hidden. Right after, the vexes dissipated in yellow particles. The king raised his axe and stepped back, uttering "thrust", causing his axe to extend towards Swordsman Herobrine and impaled him off his obsidian cluster to the other side of the crater, burying him on a pile of sand.

You say I’ve been defeated? That I’ve lost? But how can you kill something that exists everywhere? That is part of your reality? How can you purge hate from your heart? How can you remove it from your mind? I tell you this. We’ve only just begun.

The King then got attacked by a group of Vessels. After that he pulled out Samantha to defend him self from an aproaching Warrior type Vessel, while pulling in the blade of his Red-Steel-Axe back to himself. Soon, he defeated the vessels and impaled Swordsman Herobrine again. He later threw the Vessel behind himself and defeating him. Blue Demon then told the King to defeat Swordsman Herobrine, warning him to not use him, else he would come back stronger. Eventually, a Warden suddenly appeared behind the King, roaring as he instinctively propelled away. The Warden ate Swordsman Herobrine and teleported away, causing all the vessels to collapse on the ground, to the king's shock and Blue Demon's disappointment.

Later, the Illager King was seen aloft his horse, observing Steve who was carried by Betty the Bat to Blue Demon's base.

Skills and Abilities

Illager King Thrust

Illager King thrusting his axe as portrayed in Annoying Villagers 55.

As a regarded figure in the Illager Forces, the Illager King is understandably powerful, able to keep himself up against Blue Demon and almost defeating him. He possesses a great flexibility, dexterity, and acrobatic skills, able to perform stunts and flips while precisely landing hits on his opponents with his extendable axe.

Illager King's power mainly comes from his Red-Steel Axe, a heavy one-wielded axe that is uniquely able to extend and transform between two states: forked and spear form. This allows the Illager King to have a prowess in both melee and ranged combat.

It is inferred that the Illager King possesses some sort of magic abilities, again through his unique axe. With the aid of his horse, he is able to perform the lethal Horse Apparition Charge move. Aside from this, his axe allows him to have a god-like healing, as seen after he got blown up by Blue Demon's attack, his axe turns a yellowish green hue and begins to heal not only the king but also his damaged armor. His axe in Annoying Villagers 55 also has the ability to do a "thrust" that has a similar output with the "extend" move. Furthermore, his axe can also break obsidian as seen in Annoying Villagers 55 when extended.

The Illager King possesses an adept axemanship, capable of dual wielding axes (notably, Red-Steel Axe and Samantha) so efficiently that the axes can deflect arrows in a spin. This is also backed up with his mastery in horsemanship.

The king is also known for his incredibly strong physical durability, able to withstand Blue Demon's lethal blasts and even could still fight skillfully after he got injured as seen in Annoying Villagers 55.

Relationships

His Brother

The Illager King and his brother were always close Comrades. Although he died the King's Brother still assists the King in his Axe form as the Red-Steel Axe.

Blue Demon

The Drowned once was a comrade of the King but he left him. Now the King wants to crush the Drowned's dreams into ashes.

Fuzzy Cloud

The King wants to kill the Demon Sheep because he is a moster and a comrad to Blue Demon.

Steve

He saved Steve but tortured him two times but restrained himself and made Steve his assistant to change the world and hunt down Blue Demon when the Drowned is resting. However, Steve didn't reside with the Illager Forces because Entity303 captured him. But luckily, when he came bak and then being helped by Betty the Bat to track Blue Demon and his Rebellion down, Illager King observed and likely followed him.

Mr.Colder

Mr.Colder was an accident target as killed by Horse Apparition Charge but Illager King made him his assistant and gave Mr.Colder a chestplate alike to his and the sword he uses which became a conscious item since the sword made a red shield.

Samantha the Killer Axe

After Samantha was dropped by Entity303 and Steve, he helped the Illager King and Red-Steel Axe.

Trivia

UMA

Note the figure on the right.

  • During the shot of the three highest ranking mobs of the United Mob Association, what that is very likely to be the Illager King can be seen, leading the speculation that he is top three ranked mob in the faction. However, since he is Blue Demon's enemy, it was theorized that he have defected and created his own forces and army.
    • This is proven false in Annoying Villagers 54, as it is actually the other way around: Blue Demon betrays the Mob Association.
  • He is almost always seen riding on his skeleton horse. The only episode where he isn't with his horse is Annoying Villagers 43.
  • In his backstory in Annoying Villagers 55, the when the Illager King won the tournament", he was awarded with the Gift of the Gods". However, he had just gotten bright light blue eyes, but the surrounding pillagers had strangely started bowing before him, praising him as their king.
    • It is also unknown how did he manage to unite the rest of the Illagers and made an alliance with the Undead.
  • The Illager King was originally considered to be a Vindicator due to his outfit. However, this was disproved in Annoying Villagers 55 as in that episode, his backstory reveals that he is a Pillager instead.
